Unity Spotlight for the GMC Sierra

The GMC Sierra takes the same Unity post-mount spotlight and bracket kits as the Chevrolet Silverado of the same generation. 2019-2024 uses kits 263 and 8938. Older C/K-series Sierras use kit 229 or an H-shaft spotlight with the appropriate bracket.

Sierra and Silverado share a cab, so the kit lists match. The older C1500-C3500 and K1500-K3500 trucks take an H-shaft spotlight.

GMC Sierra spotlight questions

What is a shaft code and why does it matter?

The shaft is the tube that carries the lamp from the pillar to the handle inside the cab. Its length and bend are specific to the body - that is what the letter code (A, GM, V, H, CL, DC, P, PL, O) records. A GM-shaft spotlight will not sit correctly on a body that needs an H shaft, even with the right bracket.
