About Golight Spotlights
Golight builds remote-controlled searchlights in Culbertson, Nebraska, and is the standard fit where an operator needs to aim a beam from inside the cab. Every light here is motorised: you steer it with a wireless handheld remote or a hardwired dash panel rather than reaching out of a window.
Stryker ST vs GT - which series?
Both series share the same 544,000 candela LED head and the same halogen option. Stryker ST is the heavier-duty platform, built for continuous professional duty on patrol vehicles, emergency apparatus and commercial fleets. GT is the lighter, lower-cost platform for work trucks, agriculture, hunting rigs and recreational use. If the light will be aimed many times a shift, every shift, choose ST.
LED or halogen?
LED models put out 544,000 candela; halogen models 225,000. LED draws far less current, starts instantly and lasts tens of thousands of hours. Halogen remains available because it costs less up front and some fleets standardise on it for parts commonality. For anything new, LED is the right choice.
Standard beam or Hybrid wide-beam?
Standard models use a tight 6 degree beam for maximum distance. Hybrid models add a 15 degree wide beam, trading some reach for a much wider lit area - better for scene lighting, docking and close search, worse for identifying something far away.
Mounting options
Three choices. Permanent mount bolts through the roof or bumper and wires in - the cleanest and most secure. Portable magnetic mount holds to any steel panel and unplugs, so one light serves several vehicles. Portable on a permanent mounting shoe is the hybrid: a fixed base stays on the vehicle and the light head lifts off when not in use or when you need it elsewhere.
Wireless remote or hardwired dash control?
Wireless remotes can be passed to a passenger or used outside the vehicle. Hardwired dash panels never need batteries or pairing and cannot be mislaid - the usual choice for fleet and emergency vehicles.
Marine
The Gobee stanchion-mount spotlight is the boat-specific model, adding bi-colour navigation lights to the remote-controlled head so one fitting serves two purposes on a small vessel.
