Tahoe fitment is the clearest example of why the kit matters more than the lamp. The 2007-2014 body splits into air-curtain and non-air-curtain versions that use different brackets, and the pillar structure changed again for 2021.

Will a Crown Victoria spotlight fit a Tahoe?
The lamp head will, the bracket will not. Unity spotlights are built around a shaft that is specific to the body: the Crown Victoria uses a GM shaft with its own kit, the Tahoe a different one. Moving a spotlight between vehicles means buying the new vehicle's bracket kit and often a different shaft length. The head, handle and wiring carry over.
How do I know if my Tahoe has a side air curtain?
Look at the headliner edge above the doors for an airbag tag. The air-curtain cars need the bracket that clears it - fitting the wrong one either fouls the curtain or leaves the bracket unsupported.
